Saddle Rock Golf Course in Aurora CO – Open All Year
I am lucky enough to live in the Saddle Rock Golf Community. As I drive by the different fairways in the
winter time, I am always amazed at the number of golfers enjoying their round
in cold temperatures. As long as there
is no snow on the greens, the course is open.
The course is a beautiful sight and is kept green and lush all
year long. The wildlife can frequently
bee seen hanging out on the golf course and flocks of geese fly over head with
their horns a blasting.
If weather prohibits play, there is always the driving range where
you hit off of grass tees. The clubhouse
also offers a nice little café which is open year round.
The 18-hole Saddle Rock Golf Course in Aurora, CO is a public golf
course that opened in 1997. Designed by Dick Phelps, Saddle Rock Golf Course
measures 7351 yards from the longest tees and has a slope rating of 136 and a
73.7 USGA rating. The course features 4 sets of tees for different skill
levels. Greens and fairways are blue grass.
If the winter blues have got you down, grab your clubs and head to
the golf course and take in the beauty all around.

King Soopers Opens in Southeast Aurora Feb 2015
King Soopers Open New Superstore in Southeast Aurora
Yesterday, I had an opportunity to visit the newest Colorado King Soopers (Kroger) Grocery Store in Aurora Colorado. We have been watching this one from the time they shoveled the first scoop of dirt to completion. The grand opening was a couple weeks ago with incredible swarms of people wanting to get the first glimpse of the new grocery store. Every time I drove by, the parking lot was busting at the seams. Now that the dust has settled, I decided to have a gander.
The aisles are extra wide so when there are ten people in one aisle, there is no delay for the speed shoppers whizzing by. The selection of items is just incredible. I can stand at any section and have unlimited choices before my eyes.
In my opinion, this store tries to offer too much for my liking. I had to keep reminding myself I was in King Soopers and not Wal Mart or Super Target. Not only did they sell groceries, but I also noticed items like recliners, dining room tables, clothing, tennis shoes, toys and fine jewelry.
I’m sure many people are excited to have all of these items at their fingertips, but for someone who just wants to run in and grab a jug of milk, it is a bit overwhelming. There is no easy run in and run out at this store.
Go take a look for yourself. This King Soopers is located at the corner of Arapahoe Road and Smoky Hill Road in Aurora Colorado near Southshore and Beacon Point. They do have a large gas station where you can use your fuel discounts as well.
